Do you want to test OpenEMM without installing it first? For that reason, we provide a server with a demo account of OpenEMM 5.5 which is open to the public.
Architecture and environment of OpenEMM

What do you need to run OpenEMM?
To run OpenEMM you need nothing special and - of course - only open source software!
General requirements for the server you want to use for OpenEMM:
- minimum of 512 MByte RAM, 1 GByte is recommended
- shell access (via SSH) with root user rights
- fix IP address
- no need of a dedicated server - virtual server (e.g. VMware) is ok
OpenEMM runs on top of a well proven open source software stack: Linux, MySQL, Sendmail and Python.
Operating System:
- first choice: RedHat Enterprise Linux 4.x or higher or compatible (like CentOS 4), because we offer an RPM for easy installation
- second choice: all other Linux distributions like Fedora Core 5, Novell Suse 9.x, Open Suse 10.x and Debian 3.1 (in this case we offer a tarball for manual installation)
- third choice (due to lower platform reliability): Windows 2000 or Windows XP
Software stack:
- Sun JDK 5 or higher
- MySQL 4.1.18 or higher (we have not used older versions)
- Sendmail 8.13 or higher (not required for Windows version of OpenEMM)
- Python 2.3.4 or higher
If you get OpenEMM running on platforms not mentioned here, please notify us at info AT openemm DOT org (subject: "OpenEMM requirements") so that we can update this page with your knowhow.
