OpenEMM Support

Hi. I think this is just me misunderstanding the instructions.
My domain's mail server (MX for mydomain.com) is NOT my openemm server (server.mydomain.com).
I have set the from and reply-to addresses as REAL addresses (real@mydomain.com) in the mailings.
Some bounces get returned as messages to real@mydomain.com, which someone then has to scan and manually update recipient status in openemm.
Some are correctly registered in openemm as bounces.
How do I ensure ALL the returned emails register as bounces in openemm?
